Lecture and Workshop Information

Lecture/Trunk Shows
Five-Inch is a Cinch: How Nickel Quilts Are Created –This trunk show is sure to get quilters fired up about using 5" squares of fabric. I bring a great assortment of quilts from my collection and we focus on the blocks in the quilts and the simple components they are made from. I suggest this lecture for guilds that I am visiting for the first time.
Fabulous Nickel Borders:
Turn a nice quilt into a WOW quilt by adding easy-to-piece Nickel Borders – A great follow up lecture to Five Inch Is a Cinch . In this lecture we focus on easy to piece borders that are made from 5" squares. I bring many of my quilts with pieced borders and I walk you through my method of “auditioning” borders.
Both lectures inclued a trunk show of at least 25 to 30 quilts. This is not a slide show; you will get to see and touch the actual quilts!

Workshops
I offer a wide variety of workshops, many of which are based on
the quilts featured in the Nickel Quilts books. Seven of the workshops
are designed so that construction techniques (or units) common to
more than one quilt are taught and the student is able to choose
from two or more quilts. All workshops are full day (6 hrs), however I
am more than happy to discuss tailoring a workshop to fit your needs.
For information on fees please e-mail Pat Speth at Pat@PatSpeth.com.
